Etendero is famous for its food. You will never forget "braai-evenings" (barbecue) at the charcoal grill site in the middle of "Okandjou River", surrounded by centuries-old ana trees. However, such evenings do depend on the weather.


- orange, banana and pineapple jam


  • 500 ml freshly pressed orange juice
  • 500 g banana slices
  • 500 g fresh pineapple pieces
  • 1750 g preserving sugar
  • Pulp of 2 vanilla pods (or 5 packs vanilla sugar)
  • 5 g cinnamon, ground

What to do:

1. Marinate the banana slices in orange juice. Add the pieces of pineapple and the preserving sugar and mix well. Leave for two hours.

2. Add the vanilla pulp or vanilla sugar as well as the cinnamon to the fruit and bring to the boil.

3. Keep at the boil for 4 minutes. Put into jam jars and tightly close the lid.
